Seminar Attendee Loses Afternoon Chocolate Craving within 2 days after following simple nutrition guidelines at recent FRESH! Seminar

chocolate-cake1

Tim’s Note:  The following was an unsolicited email sent to me by a person who attended my recent seminar at the Calgary Co-op Whole Health Challenge.  It’s amazing what can happen when you actually take action and start following the sound advice of a qualified professional!

Hi Tim,

I heard you speak at the Coop on April 7th on “Eat Right for Your Metabolism”. I identified my metabolic type to be a strong protein type. I had never heard of metabolic typing before. Eating as you suggested by your type has made a huge difference in how I have felt in just the past 2 days. [Read more...]

Canada is Going Crazy…and not in a good way!

money_for_nothing

OK, so I know this isn’t a typical health and fitness blog post, but this goes deeper to the health and fitness of our national conscience.  I’m not sure if you’ve been following the reports of censorship in the media recently.  First, it started with a new version of Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn being censored for the “fragile” ears and eyes of modern readers.

The word “Nigger” is being replaced by “Slave” (Not much better, and it doesn’t even have the same meaning)!  Apparently many school systems across the country had stopped using the book because of the “offensive” word.  Wow, I guess the fact that it’s actually an anti-racist book and designed to get people thinking about the situation was never considered.  Additionally, if the word is so offensive, why is it used in virtually every Rap/Hip-Hop song to come out in the past 20 years?

The next amazing and incredibly stupid thing to happen [Read more...]

Junk food’s out – it’s the law

Girl Eating Cafeteria Lunch

Congratulations to Obama and the US for passing the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, and to the public health organizations for demanding better nutrition for Canadian kids.  I agree that junk food has no place in schools, or any proper diet.  However, the path taken by these organizations is often skewed.  Fat, and meat are being vilified and vegetarian options are being promoting without providing further information to the public. Calgary Personal Trainer speaks out about Sacramento Kings Exercise Ball Burst Lawsuit

francisco-garcia-sacramento-kings-nba

If you own or have ever used an inflatable exercise ball, you NEED to read this article!

I’m writing this article because of an extremely dangerous situation that I feel is not being addressed in the health and fitness industry.  If you own or use an exercise ball, the information in this article could literally save your life!

I’m not sure if you heard, but the Sacramento Kings basketball team is suing exercise ball makers Ball Dynamics and M-F Athletic who make and distribute the Gymnic brand of exercise ball.  The $4 million lawsuit was filed by the team because one of their star players Francisco Garcia broke his wrist while exercising on a ball (the Gymnic Plus “Burst Resistant” Stability Ball) last year.  The ball burst during his workout, causing injuring, and forcing him to miss 57 league games at a substantial cost to the team and Francisco’s career. Nutrition is Actually Very Simple if You Follow These Tips!

food_cereal-freak

The main reason that you’re not happy with your weight is because of what you eat.

It’s hardly your fault.

Have you ever stopped to notice how many times you’re bombarded by food marketing each day?

Ads come at you from magazine pages, T.V. commercials, on websites and billboards, each boasting of cheap, convenient and tasty ways to cure your hunger.

The question “What’s for dinner?” has never been more complex than now.

Extensive menu options and large entrees have distorted your concept of a proper meal, and before you know it you’ve fallen into the trap of the chain restaurant, the drive thru, and the take-out line.

But wait – truly healthy eating is simple.

Another Diet Drug Poses Health Risks…Big Surprise!

drug-pill-meridia

I’m not sure if you saw this in the news, but Health Canada has pulled the diet drug Meridia from the Canadian market due to increased risk of heart attack and stroke in some people.  The drug works in the brain to help people feel more full…which supposedly leads to eating less.

To anybody with even a remote knowledge of health and fitness, the side effects on peoples bodies, minds, and health are no surprise.  These “diet” drugs are an all too common part of a dirty and broken industry that preys on the fragile psyches of a confused, frustrated, and poorly informed population.

The scary fact, and something you should be aware of is [Read more...]
