Speed Skaters – not just for Speed Skaters!

Speed Skaters are a great way to get your heart rate up, burn some calories and work on your lateral movement.

Do it right:

On Floor

  • start balancing on one leg  in athletic position – body low to the ground, knees bent, chest up
  • jump sideways – swinging the arms with each jump , landing on other leg – find point of balance and hold before next jump
  • keep your body low to the ground, don’t jump up too high. Repeat for 1 minute.

On Slide Board in Fitness Studio

  • put shoe covers on before attempting
  • perform speed skaters same as on floor, except slide instead of jump
