Speed Skaters are a great way to get your heart rate up, burn some calories and work on your lateral movement.
Do it right:
On Floor
- start balancing on one leg in athletic position – body low to the ground, knees bent, chest up
- jump sideways – swinging the arms with each jump , landing on other leg – find point of balance and hold before next jump
- keep your body low to the ground, don’t jump up too high. Repeat for 1 minute.
On Slide Board in Fitness Studio
- put shoe covers on before attempting
- perform speed skaters same as on floor, except slide instead of jump
