Welcome to September. Despite the grumblings of school kids and those missing summer vacation, this month is a time of reflection, rejuvenation, and refocusing of efforts. It’s when we get to work on improving our self, work, and life.
The article this week on physical activity and academic performance is timely. Hopefully it spurs you to think more about how you and your kids are incorporating physical activity into each day.
While the article is geared to the school environment, it’s equally applicable to corporations and work performance. Studies show that 20 minutes of physical activity dramatically improves performance, productivity, and happiness on the job; often up to 30%. These results can also be improved through adding simple 10-60 second mobility and stretching movements at regular intervals throughout the day.
As we transition from “vacation mode” to “work mode”, these tips will be extremely valuable to help you maintain focus, effectiveness, and happiness in the fall. Put a plan in place to make this happen, and start moving your body each day. Your body, and your boss, will like it.
If you feel that more direction and support would help you get better results, we’ve created a simple 21 Day Back to Work Challenge. Join today (Even better … it’s free).
