Due to my fitness industry background, people often assume that I’m all about fitness and exercise. However, that’s not entirely correct. The foundation of what I do is to increase POTENTIAL. And the goal is high-performance living.
Exercise and fitness is important component to increasing potential, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. It’s actually your mindset and daily habits that will generate the greatest results and increase high performance and potential in your life.
Being healthier and in better shape simply provides you with a stronger vehicle from which to realize your growth potential. To be completely honest – I’m writing them as a reminder to myself, but I thought I’d share with you as well. 🙂
So with that in mind, here are 7 tips that will help you in achieving high performance in anything you do.
1. Own your circumstances
It’s too common for people to blame their circumstances. I guarantee there are other people with similar or worse circumstances doing really, really well.
Follow their lead. Learn from what they do and how they view the world.
2. Be RESPONSE-ABLE
You can’t change the past, but you can reframe it and act in the present to change your future. You are in control of your actions. As soon as you take responsibility for your success you’re ahead of 95% of society.
3. Be persistent
Real success doesn’t come easily. If you stick with something that’s important to you and work your plan you’ll get where you want to be. It may end up being harder than you imagined, but the growth and accomplishment will be worth the effort.
4. Do what you should be doing
Your actions are either moving you closer to or further from your goals – be aware of how you’re spending your time. Avoid majoring in minor things!
5. Invest in others.
Spend time every day working to add value to your family, friends, coworkers, and associates’ lives. It will come back to you in amazing and unexpected ways.
6. Work on ‘you’ every day.
Learning, growth, and development is continual process. Seminars, books, audios, masterminds, mentorship, coaching – you can ALWAYS improve.
7. Focus on solutions – not problems.
Skip the whining, griping, and complaining. Once you’ve identified an obstacle devote all your energy to overcome it.
I encourage you to take a few minutes to digest these 7 tips. They may seem simple and you may be tempted to write them off. Think closely about whether you are committed to following them. If you live them, you will be amazed at how everything in life gets better and a little easier.
