4 Tips To Help You Rock 2023

Itā€™s a fact. Information is everywhere and exponentially more content gets posted every day. Seriously, information is growing so fast that itā€™s been estimated that 90% of the world’s information has been created in the past TWO YEARS. Crazy! Do you want to know what is going to help you rock 2023 in this crowded sea of information and change?

Whether itā€™s for health, fitness, hobbies, or your career, you need more than information to get the results you want.

Suffice it to say…Lack of information is NOT the reason you are struggling to get the results you want! I believe information ā€œaloneā€ is at the heart of failure…for you and me. Whatā€™s missing is curation and implementation. And if we need implementation, then we also need help and accountability.

So, here is how to rock your health, fitness, and personal growth in 2023.

Embrace Change

Change is inevitable. Itā€™s been called the universal constant. By fighting against it, we waste our energy and miss opportunities to grow and improve. This includes technology, access to information, new ways of accomplishing our goals, and much more.

You donā€™t have to be on the bleeding edge of change or an early adopter, but you also donā€™t want to be that person still using a rotary phone, sending telegrams, or commuting by stagecoach!

Extreme examples, but you get the point. Evaluate the benefits that change can bring to your life. At some point, the value of change will outweigh the benefits of sticking with the status quo.

You are probably thinking…if the change is so prevalent, why have you said that I should focus on things that arenā€™t going to change?

Thatā€™s because certain things are more constant than others and are at the heart of the transformation process (yes, quite a juxtaposition, but stay with me). These ā€œconstantsā€ include core values, fundamental principles, and certain high-level strategies.

With that concept in mind, here are a few factors in life that I donā€™t believe will be changing anytime soon.

We want to be a better version of ourselves to rock 2023

While not everyone is fixated on this, Iā€™ve met very few people who would pass up the opportunity to improve themselves. The challenge is that personal growth requires work. It involves making the decision to step outside your comfort zone and make seemingly difficult changes to your thoughts, perceptions, and actions.

As a coach, this is what Iā€™m hired to help with. Itā€™s my job (and passion) to help people see a better future, face hard decisions, and encourage them to take positive action daily. I do this because it’s what it takes to help you go to another level in your health, fitness, and life.

Itā€™s also why I have coaches and mentors in my life as well.

you need help and support to rock 2023

You need help and support

Support can come in many forms, but at the base level, it requires an investment of time, energy, and/or money. Letā€™s use fitness as an example.

The difference between a gym membership, a private program, and some type of group training is the amount of support you get. If you want support, coaching, and accountability at a high level, it will cost you more time, energy, or money.

The great news is that money can save you both time and energy.

Think of it this way. You pay less for a gym membership, but you are basically on your own and renting access to equipment. This is fine for some people, but extremely unhelpful for others (and costly over the long term if you arenā€™t using the gym or getting any results). Those that are successful with gym memberships tend to be extremely self-motivated and have an established knowledge base. Others can find success by engaging with a community of friends or acquaintances that help support them through the challenges of the longer change process.

Private coaching on the other hand is a larger investment, but shortens the learning and results curve. A valuable benefit is that you get extremely focused and customized feedback and coaching on a moment-to-moment basis.

Sometimes changes can happen in a couple sessions that take other people months or years to figure out on their own. For speed of change and knowledge acquisition, nothing beats private coaching and support.

With group programs, the investment and support level vary depending on the program or people involved.

Which one is best will depend on your specific needs, budget, and availability. Many people find it helpful to invest in a coach to figure out which option is best for them to pursue!

The good news is that the help and support of a coach are much more likely to get you the results you want (and need).

We want a return on our time and effort

Most people arenā€™t happy wasting their time, effort, or money. When we invest in a product, program, coaching, or other services, we want some sort of benefit as the outcome. I donā€™t see this changing. In terms of health, fitness, and personal performance, itā€™s my responsibility to make sure my clients get that return…or I tell them to fire me!

So, I encourage you to think about the time, effort, and investment you are making in your health, fitness, and personal growth. Is it producing a tangible and valuable return for you?

If not, itā€™s time to make a change.

People often ā€œgo to the gymā€ for years without seeing the results they want. I donā€™t care how cheap the membership is, itā€™s not worth it if it isnā€™t producing a positive outcome.

On the flip side, think about what it would be worth to you to get the results you desire. How much time, effort, and frustration could you save by investing in a proven and guaranteed outcome? Thatā€™s an important food for thought…and few people take the time to consider it.

Would you invest $3-4K over 6 months to learn to move properly, avoid injury, and transform your fitness, nutrition, body, and lifestyle? Accomplishing that would set you up for long-term success and even if you stopped, you would have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to continue for many years.

Alternatively, you could pay $60/month for a gym membership, use it sporadically over the course of several years, and have not much to show for it except more frustration and a few injuries. You would have paid almost as much as the private coaching option, but without any of the results.

This scenario is so common and at the heart of why so many people struggle. They donā€™t seek out the support they need and invest in accelerating their change.

We want to feel important and be working towards something meaningful

Itā€™s a basic human need to feel important and to work towards a worthwhile objective. This is the beauty of connecting to people, communities, and purpose.

Interpersonal connection (outside of work and family) is more important than ever. These connections dramatically improve both physical and mental health, while accelerating progress toward your goals.

At FRESH!, we genuinely connect with our clients and have built lifelong connections, even with people who no longer work with us. We also love it when our clients and members become friends with each other. Together, everyone benefits!

An important part of this community and support system is helping you identify the most important objectives in your life…or connecting your improved health, fitness, and happiness to accomplishing those objectives.

Think about whether your current health and fitness programs make you feel important and connect you with a positive community. Are you working towards something worthwhile and meaningful, or merely sweating out a few calories?

The answers to this question could be major factors that take you closer to or further from your goals. So, back to one of the initial points…THIS is why information alone will fail us. Information will not give us all these things, this is the power of human connection.

We all want it.

We all need it.

We all deserve it.

And, if you want to rock your health, fitness, and life in 2023, then, personal connection, support, purpose, and community are keys that can help you.
