Instead of a big April Fools gag, I’ve decided to provide you with some “foolish” thoughts and quotes to ponder April fools day.
On a separate note, thank you for bearing with me.
It’s amazing how things change. When I started writing blog posts many years ago, they were a serious chore. I found them difficult, cumbersome, and time-consuming. The fact is, I wasn’t good at them and it was like pulling teeth to get them completed.
Fast forward a few years and I’ve written over 400 email newsletters and blog posts, published a few books, and LOVE writing.
I now find writing an amazing way to collect, clarify, and express my thoughts. My writing journey is the same as any worthwhile change in life.
To get good at something, you must first resign yourself to being bad at that thing.
Unfortunately, too many people are scared to be embarrassed or look “foolish”.
Fitness and health are the same way. People start exercising, building a healthy habit, or making healthier eating choices, but are shocked when it isn’t easy, the results don’t happen right away, or they face unexpected barriers.
This is why so many people quit and give up. Often this happens right before they make a major breakthrough in their mindset, habits, or performance.
Take a moment to ponder what areas of your life you’ve been being “foolish”
To help with that, here are some great quotes about wisdom and foolishness (sometimes there’s a fine line between them)!
Also, feel free to freely exchange “man”, with “women”, “person”, or whatever term you choose! 🙂
“You will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm.” ― Colette
“Every man is a damn fool for at least five minutes every day; wisdom consists in not exceeding the limit.” ― Elbert Hubbard, The Roycroft Dictionary Concocted By Ali Baba And The Bunch On Rainy Days
“Wisdom cannot be imparted. The wisdom that a wise man attempts to impart always sounds like foolishness to someone else … Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.” ― Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha
“Until you’re ready to look foolish, you’ll never have the possibility of being great. ― Cher
“If you fear nothing, then you are not brave. You are merely too foolish to be afraid.” ― Laurell K. Hamilton, Skin Trade
“People do not wish to appear foolish; to avoid the appearance of foolishness, they are willing to remain actually fools. ” ― Alice Walker
“Science is what we have learned about how to keep from fooling ourselves.” ― Richard Feynman
